As we know, the higher the number of users of the Net, the more benefits will there be for everybody. Paradoxically, the Internet, with over 80 million users, has not reached a critical mass, at any rate not in the European economic context. The security of economic transaction is one of the main reasons to allow the development of the Net from a commercial point of view. This is a problem that seems difficult to solve, because a lot of people do not know the algorithms of cryptography that already exist (for instance, the concept of the double public and private key), but mainly there is a deficiency in the attitudes and mentalities of people in accepting and trusting these programs. Another obstacle comes from the Public Administrations, that require that the possibility exists in breaking the codes of cryptography, thus damaging privacy right. Another problem is the lack of common technical standards, but here also the solution is easy, because the standard TCP/IP is already universally spread and allows interoperability.
